Some further details on the boat, “Warisan”
Warisan In Bahasa Malaysia means Classic or Heritage.
The engine is a Mercedes 2L diesel, rated 43 hp, it uses about 2L per hr. Hours on the engine are unknown,
but it runs very smoothly, without problems. Steering is hydraulic, from wheelhouse or top deck.
A 24 volt bow screw can be used from the wheelhouse only.
The boat has 12 volt DC, and 240 volt AC outlets when on shore power.
2 Boat battery’s are new 2017, engine gel battery is 3 years old.
Fuel tank holds about 250 L. The water tank holds about 250 L.
The bow berth has room for the same size mattress as the bedroom ( 195 X 120 cm.) We have removed the mattress and use the bow as storage.
Propane gas is from 2, 15 kg tanks in a closed, vented box in the bow “chain locker” area. The refrigerator and 4 burner cooking hob run on propane.
The refrigerator also runs on 240 VAC. I have never used it on 12 VDC. New custom curtains for all windows, new upholstrey for the dining area last year.
We have never had the hull surveyed, it shows no signs of problems. This is a strong old Dutch Barge, Riveted Hull, built about 1925,
used as a farm barge until converted to a live aboard power boat in the mid 1950’s. Originally built to carry about 20 tons, total weight now is 8 tons.
Head room: The galley is 183 cm, this tapers down to 166 cm in the front dining area. Wheel house headroom is 178 cm, Bedroom 158 cm. shower 172 cm.
As with any 90 year old boat, it will require maintenance. Not a perfect boat, but we have been very happy with it for the last 9 years.
If you are not “handy” you should not own an old boat.
We bought the boat in Holland Sept 2011 with a regular bill of sale.
I am not handy with DC electrical, therefore the DC electrical system needs work. this will be considered in the negotiable price.
